Although Bret Michaels has led the rock band Poison for the last nineteen years, he has consistently worked on special solo projects including his forthcoming highly anticipated album due out this fall.

Bret was recently on the cover of Billboard Magazine talking about his new project, a multi- genre disc that will explore the different sides of his musical personality with a blend of straight ahead rock, blues, southern rock and country. In preparation of the disc, Bret has recorded with Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down, Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, Mark Wills, Chris Cagle and Jessica Andrews.

Bret appeared at the CMA Music Festival / Fan Fair this summer. He opened Sunday’s show at the Coliseum and performed with Chris Cagle. He  also appeared at the Coliseum with Hank Williams Jr.

Bret can also be heard in Uncle Kracker’s duet single with Kenny Chesney called “Last Night Again.” Bret and Phil Vassar share background vocal duties.

Bret recently joined Kenny Chesney onstage at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY to do a version of “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.” In turn, Kenny joined Bret and his band Poison at the Pueblo County Coliseum.

A revamped version of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” with backing vocals by Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down, Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, Mark Wills and Chris Cagle, is being played on both rock and country stations across the country now.

After the CMT Flameworthy Awards in Nashville, Bret hosted a free and open to the public all –star jam at a nightclub on lower Broadway in downtown Nashville. He brought along a revolving slew of some of the biggest names in country music including Toby Keith, Joe Nichols, Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry, Jeffrey Steele, Mark Wills, Chris Cagle.

Spending time in Nashville is nothing new to Bret. He lived in Nashville in '95 and '96 when he was shooting the movie A Letter from Death Row which he wrote, directed, scored and starred in. He executive co-produced the film with actor Charlie Sheen. The film was distributed worldwide.

Bret has written more than ten top 40 singles including the hit, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn," which held the number one spot for three weeks in Billboard's Top Pop Singles chart.  He and his band Poison will tour all this summer with Kiss on the “Rock the Nation Tour.”
