Cheers the Band is a
seven-piece group with the versatility to cover all types of music.
(For a comprehensive list of the styles covered in our 400-plus song
repertoire, see left sidebar.) Cheers can perform music from every era
of the last century -- as well as some classical pieces dating from
the 1800s -- and we are equally at home playing the up-to-date songs
of the New Millennium as we are in performing the timeless standards
of days gone by. Whether we're thrilling audiences with our dramatic
performance of "Con Te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye)", capturing every
nuance of George Bizet's stirring "La Habanera" from the opera
Carmen, or performing a spirited version of the Coors' uptempo
hit "Breathless," the band takes pride in delivering high-quality
entertainment that is sure to please people of all ages. In short,
Cheers the Band can do it all!
Cheers has delivered
outstanding performances at many venues and functions, from rock clubs
to corporate parties to basketball tournaments. (For a comprehensive
list of the types of events, see right sidebar.) Our extensive
repertoire has allowed us to perform at parties with Oldies, Roaring
20's, Dixieland, Motown, the holidays, the movies and 50's/60's as the
themes.
Cheers' rich vocals
(featuring seven lead vocalists – male and female), captivating horns,
pulsating rhythm section and fun-filled stage personality will keep
you listening, dancing, laughing and partying all night long. The band
can provide continuous music at an affair as well as cocktail and
ceremony music.
We've been performing
together since 1985, and have received the coveted Atlantic City
Magazine "Act of the Year" award twice, the only band to have
done so. We have played nationwide, and are proud to have opened for
Jay Leno, David Brenner, the Trammps, Sister Sledge, and Gloria
Estefan & the Miami Sound Machine.
Our Atlantic City-based
act is acknowledged to be of the highest profile among bands and
orchestras in the Delaware Valley. We have had the honor of being
asked to perform for a Presidential inaugural ('97), the Republican
National Convention ('00), the Governor's Ball (NJ - twice, DE), Miss
America Pageant (multiple times), the FTD National Convention, the ACN
National Convention, the MCI National Convention, QuadGraphics, NECA,
Utility & Transportation Authority, HBO, Governors Conference, USA
Today's and ESPN's No.1 High School Basketball Tournament and many
others.
Cheers, a
self-contained act with our own PA system, lighting and
transportation, features a standard four-piece rhythm section
(keyboards, guitar, bass, drums), a two-piece horn section (trumpet,
sax/flute) and a female lead front. All seven members can sing lead
(five male, two female). We can add pieces to our band upon request;
at times we have performed with as many as 12 pieces on stage. Still
not convinced? Please browse our site for performance videos, sample
