Q: Why would I use Station
Avenue Productions instead of booking my own entertainment?
A: Station Avenue Productions is a professional
entertainment company. We've been in business since September 7, 1970. We have
built long term relationships with Acts, Agents, and Managers, so they return our calls.
We know what constitutes 'fair market value' and how much an Act should charge.
We can advise you on what is the 'right act' for your event.
Q: How far in
advance should I 'book' my entertainment?
A: Obviously the more time you allow, even up to a
year before, would go far to guaranteeing that you get the Act that you want. Many
of the best performers are booked up to a year in advance.
Q: Is there
special consideration for events that are fundraisers or non-profit?
A: As far as compensation for the Performer or
Act, none whatsoever. This is just 'another day at the office' for them.
Your fundraiser will, however,be treated with respect.
Q: What is a
'contract rider'?
A: A contract rider is a legal document attached
to the contract which specifies certain requirements for which the purchaser is
responsible, e.g. sound/lights backline [stage gear], dressing rooms, hotel rooms,
transportation, and any other needs that an Artist and his/her staff may require to
fulfill your date.
Q: Do I really
need to pay attention to the rider?
A: Most Artists specifically
state that if the rider requirements are not fulfilled then they will not perform
since it is part of the contract and your
deposit is also forfeit.
Q: Does the
time of year or date of my event determine the price?
A: Yes
